Vilm 101

Motorsailor built in 2003

Around the turn of the millennium, the traditional shipyard Bootsbau Rügen GmbH from Lauterbach completely revised its model range in cooperation with designer Georg Nissen. The results were the Vilm 101 and the Vilm 111. These were modern, seaworthy vessels built to the yard’s customary high standards of craftsmanship. Distinguishing the Vilm 101 from the usual “motorsailer” category, the German yachting magazine YACHT described her in its test report (issue 06/2000) as a “motor sailing yacht”. Within the niche market of motorsailers, the model stood out for her significantly improved sailing performance, whilst retaining the typical motorsailer virtues of safety, a fixed deck saloon and powerful engine installation. With a draft of only 1,35 m and a beam of 3,25 m, the Vilm 101 is ideally suited to cruising along the German Baltic coast and through the Danish archipelago and makes the perfect cruising yacht for a couple. The 2-cabin layout together with the exclusive, beautifully crafted and solid mahogany interior provides generous comfort, living space and stowage throughout. Particularly noteworthy is the outstanding quality of the GRP workmanship, the technical installations and the handcrafted finish throughout the yacht, down to the corners that are not immediately visible.

Now offered for sale is a privately owned yacht from her second owner. Although this Vilm 101 is registered under Swedish flag, she has sailed exclusively along the German North Sea and Baltic coasts. Fully equipped for cruising with in-mast furling, bow thruster, folding propeller, recent RAYMARINE navigation electronics as well as TV and satellite antenna. The generously sized VOLVO PENTA MD2040 inboard diesel for this class of yacht provides ample propulsion and allows relaxed and comfortable cruising under power. This Vilm 101 is presented in a very well-maintained condition, has been stored ashore in an indoor winter storage hall every year and has received continuous technical maintenance. In particular, the interior shows hardly any signs of wear and is virtually as new. The yacht is currently stored indoors on the island of Fehmarn and may be viewed there by prior appointment.
