Cruiser built in 2001Comfortable and spacious yacht built by the French yard Dufour Yachts. The ergonomic deck layout with wide, unobstructed side decks, her surprisingly sporty performance, and ample living space make the Dufour 38 Classic a versatile, safe, and well-balanced cruising yacht. Spacious interior with solid, satin-varnished mahogany trim and an exceptionally large forward owner’s cabin. Ample storage space both on deck (in two lockers in the cockpit) and below decks in a variety of lockers, shelves and storage compartments. The Dufour 38 Classic also features a large forward facing chart table - a practical detail no longer found on many sailing yachts of this class.
A well-maintained, private owner's yacht this Dufour 38 Classic has been sailed exclusively in freshwater until 2022 and has never been chartered. The interior features a 3-cabin layout with a heads compartment to port side. This yacht still has the original lead keel (draft: approx. 1.95 m), with higher ballast ratio than the cast-iron keel used on later units in the Dufour 38 Classic series. The current owners have made significant investments since 2022. Among others the underwater paint was removed and completely rebuilt incl. epoxy primer (including replacement of all seacocks), a folding antenna mast with a radar antenna was installed, the standing rigging was replaced, a new FURLEX furling system was installed, and all canvases were replaced. The Dufour 38 Classic is moored here in the Baltic Bay-marina on the Kiel Fjord and is available for viewing by appointment.
