Contest 40s

Centercockpit-Cruiser built in 1993

Exclusive and seaworthy center cockpit yacht built by Conyplex B.V./Contest Yacht at Medemblik in the Netherlands. Very solid construction with laminated bulkheads, laminated beams and stringers and bolted hull/deck connection. Contest sailing yachts are known for their reliability and their stiff monolithic structure and you can find them in the most remote areas of the world. Deep, well-protected center cockpit with fixed windshield, sprayhood and high, comfortable coaming. Beautiful and high quality finish in Burma teak with lots of solid wood in frames, profiles and mouldings. Contest 40s in 2 cabin layout with two bathrooms (separate shower in owner's bathroom) and luxurious, spacious owner's cabin over the entire width of the ship in the stern. Plenty of storage space in cupboards, drawers and storage compartments and back boxes throughout the ship.

This Contest 40s has been equipped with a higher performance rig from the first owner to optimize the sailing characteristics. The current second owner then consistently optimised the yacht for double handed cruising. Bow thruster, electric genoa furling system and an electric halyard winch allow safe, comfortable sailing with a small crew. Very nice ship with dark blue painted hull and golden decor stripes. Well-kept owner's ship from second hand, every year in indoor winter storage and ongoing technical maintenance. In 2011 the underwater paint was completely rebuilt including epoxy primer.
